Our Mission

  • American Sign Language (ASL) Sports was created in 2008 with the mission of introducing children with physical challenges to a wide range of sporting activities.  The organization was founded and is currently operated by young people committed to social justice, community service, and sportsmanship.

    Our organization and various clinics strive to:

    1. Introduce and instruct children of all ages, who are deaf, hard of hearing, and/or have other physical or cognitive disabilities, to a variety of sports;
    2. Encourage positive attitudes, social opportunities, and personal growth through the challenges presented by sports; and,
    3. Encourage our peers towards community involvement, social integration, and social justice for all members of society.

    We are committed to our objectives, thankful for our abilities to effectuate change, and welcoming of input and collaboration from others.

  • Our Dream

    "I would like to take this moment to thank ASL Sports. Such a great organization deserves credit. [It] has allowed [our child] to experience a sense of teamwork, competition, and a feeling of athletic achievement. He would not have been able to do this anywhere else."
    --Father of an ASL Baseball Clinic participant

    We strive to make every child's dream a reality. Comprised of a staff of many capable volunteers, sign interpreters, and passionate parents, we will not rest until every child with a cognitive or physical disability has the opportunity to engage in athletic activities in a safe and secure environment. At our frequent clinics, we stress essential life skills such as teamwork, acceptance, and, most importantly, fun. Join us at one of our events and experience it for yourself!
